His discharge reads: To All Whom it May Concern: Know ye that William Youngblood, a private of Captain david E. Twiggs Company, Seventh regiment Infantry, who was enlisted this fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen to serve for the period of five years, is hereby honorably discharged from the Army of the United States, having procured Frederick McIntosh, a substitute. Said William Youngblod was born in the State of south Carolina, is twenty years of age; five foot seven and a half inches high; fair complexion; gray eyes, light hair and by occupation, when enlisted, a farmer. Given at Fort Montgomery in the Mississippi Territory this 5th day of March, 1817 by D. Riarley, t. Col. 7 Infantry, Company "G".
