| Note | Joyce L. Peschel Cowsert, 79, was called into eternity on Wednesday 21 September 2011. She was born on 29 June 1932 just north of Bartlett, Texas to Walter and Adela Peschel (as she said, "in the shadow of the Lutheran Church on the hill.") Joyce attended the German English School for her first eight years and finished her last four years at Bartlett High School. She moved to Austin after graduation to attend Nixon-Clay Business College to become a secretary. She finished Nixon-Clay and worked in Austin until she married Dock R. "Bud" Cowsert, formerly of Bartlett, on 16 November 1950. Dock and Joyce moved to Albany, Georgia for a while and then returned to Austin to finish out the remaining years of their lives. Joyce spent 40 years of her life as a secretary in the Civil Service and for the last 17 years of working she was secretary to the Commanding General at Bergstrom. She retired in 1993 when Bergstrom was closed. For her remaining years she enjoyed her life at their home on Lake Austin with Family and Friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Dock R. Cowsert of Austin, TX. Survivors; One sister, Gloria Sky and partner Raymond Wise of Elgin, TX. Nephew James T. Sky and partner Dawn Bachmann of Elgin, TX. Niece Christy Sky and husband Steve Castillo and son Alexander of Kissimmee, FL. Nephew Kenneth Young and wife Ellen of Simi Valley, CA. Nephew Dr. Russell Young and wife Jana of Marietta, GA and children Anny Young and Zachary Young, also great nephew Jason Young and wife Amber and children Alexis and Emma, of Mansfield, TX. Also great nephew Justin Young and wife Amy of Bartlett, TX. Joyce spent many hours with her husband working in the Bartlett Cemetery, cataloging and photographing the grave sites. Now she will be laid to rest with her husband near the front gate in that same cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Bartlett Activities Center Inc., P.O.
